This policy explains what information Food(ie) collects, how it's used, and your choices around it. Food(ie) is a listing and messaging platform for local food sellers and buyers — we don't process payments or handle food ourselves, and this policy covers the app itself, not any arrangement you make directly with a seller or buyer.
To run the core app experience — showing your feed, letting people discover and message sellers, processing follows/likes/comments, and handling order requests — and to enforce these terms, including reviewing reports and blocking abusive accounts.
Food(ie) is built on Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore database, and Cloud Storage), which runs on Google Cloud infrastructure. We don't run our own servers — your data is stored and processed through Google's infrastructure under their own security and privacy practices.
We do not sell your personal data. Content you post publicly (your profile, dish listings) is visible to other Food(ie) users by design. Messages and order requests are only visible to the people in that conversation. We don't share your data with advertisers or other third parties beyond the infrastructure providers (Google Firebase) needed to run the app.
You can edit your name, handle, and bio at any time from Account settings. You can block any account, which also removes their content from your feed.
Deleting your account. You can delete your account yourself, at any time, directly in the app: You › Account › Delete account. After a confirmation and your password, this permanently deletes your account along with your profile, your dish listings and their photos, your profile photo, your intro video, and your follows. No email or support request is needed, and there is no deactivate-only option — the deletion is immediate and permanent.
For any other data request — access to, or correction of, your data — email us (below) and we'll act on it within a reasonable time.
Food(ie) is not directed at children under 13, and you must be at least 13 to create an account (18 to sell). If we learn an account belongs to someone under 13, we will remove it.
We rely on Firebase's built-in security practices and access rules to protect your data, but no system is perfectly secure — we can't guarantee absolute security of information you transmit to us.
We may update this policy as Food(ie) changes. If we make a meaningful change, we'll make that clear in the app.
