Food(ie) connects local food sellers — home chefs, food trucks, bakers and pop-ups — with people nearby who want to buy from them. Food(ie) is a listing and messaging platform only. We are not the seller, we do not prepare or handle food, and we do not process payments. Any purchase is a direct arrangement between you and the seller.
You must be at least 18 years old to sell on Food(ie), and at least 13 to use it at all. Keep your login details secure. You are responsible for everything posted from your account.
You keep ownership of the photos, videos, and text you post. By posting, you give Food(ie) permission to display it within the app so other users can see it — nothing more. You confirm you have the right to post whatever you upload.
There is zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behavior on Food(ie). Do not post content that is harassing, hateful, threatening, sexually explicit, violent, illegal, or that impersonates someone else. Do not post food listings you cannot actually fulfil, and do not misrepresent ingredients or allergens.
Every post, profile and conversation has a Report option, and you can block any account from its profile or from your chat with them. Blocking hides that person from your feed and stops them appearing to you, and prevents new messages between you in either direction. Reports are reviewed and accounts that break these rules can be removed. We aim to act on reports within 24 hours.
Sellers are solely responsible for complying with local food laws, including cottage food and MEHKO rules, permits, labelling and allergen disclosure where these apply. Buyers should ask sellers about ingredients and preparation if they have allergies or dietary requirements.
Food(ie) never handles money. Sellers share their own pickup and payment arrangements directly with buyers. Food(ie) is not responsible for payment disputes, refunds, or the quality, safety or legality of anything sold.
Food(ie) is provided "as is." We do not guarantee the app will always be available or error-free. To the extent allowed by law, Food(ie) is not liable for disputes, losses, or harm arising from transactions or interactions between users — those are between you and the other person, not us.
We can suspend or remove an account that breaks these rules. You can stop using Food(ie) and request account deletion at any time — see Contact below.
We collect the account details you give us (name, handle, email, photos), the content you post, and your messages, so the app can work. This data is stored with Google Firebase. We do not sell your personal data. You can ask us to delete your account and its content at any time. Full details: our Privacy Policy.
We may update these terms as Food(ie) grows. If we make a meaningful change, we'll make that clear in the app. Continuing to use Food(ie) after a change means you accept the update.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
